The Buick has atrial fibrillation!

We were all packed...gassed up...ready to drive to Indian Wells for the BnP Paribas Open tennis tourney, when the Buick's electronics went haywire. No tach, no speedometer, warning lights all aglow. The engine ran, but no nav and no radio.

We took the wife's 2005 Rav4 - not a great road car, but it got us there and back.

Used GMC's road service to get the beast towed to Stowasser GMC here in town. The two truck driver did not know how to get the shift lever out of park when there is no power! I had to call the dealer to learn that you must detach a cable under the car! The tow truck driver did not want to do that, so....

Yup. The driver put the car on a dolly, turned it around in the garage, and towed it out. Luckily, there was room.

Results of two days of investigation: don't know. I'm sure it wasn't the two hitch I had installed, the dealer couldn't prove it was, so there was no charge. The tech charged the battery, re-booted, and everything works fine.

Will it happen again? Don't know. Standby.

First Visit: Motor City, Bakersfield, CA 10 Nov 2011

Customer Service: 4
Facility: 6  (parts under construction)

Visited mid day; never acknowledged by anyone. Receptionist was very helpful but did not know where the parts department for Buick was. I never found it. There are two separate facilities: one for sedans and SUVs, the other for trucks.
